The lyrics of reggae professed against racism and all forms of discrimination, and presents a high social and political content. Note that many of its representatives have spread religious content, but this does not mean that reggae is the music of the Rastafarian religion. Reggae music is popular throughout Jamaica, mainly expressing the feelings of the ghetto and the dispossessed.
